Newborn Care Solutions

Tonya Sakowicz developed Newborn Care Solutions to offer her expert knowledge and extensive experience to meet the increasing demands from families and nanny agencies around the world for high qualified trained caregivers.

After teaching newborn care strategies at national conferences for many years, Tonya had repeated inquiries from nanny agencies and nanny support groups to develop a specialty training program. Tonya and her husband Todd then created the Foundational Newborn Care Specialist Training Program. This insightful and innovative program focuses on proven strategies, methods and tips found to be the most beneficial for the families and the babies she has cared for over the years.

This foundational course quickly led to requests for advanced training and cross training of nannies, so a second (Advanced NCS Training) and third (Nanny Advancement Education) track were created.

Tonya is an INA Credentialed Nanny, Newborn Care Specialist and Parent Educator who does both consulting and in-home sleep conditioning for her clients as well as teaching seminars through local organizations and agencies and mentoring new Newborn Care Specialists. Tonya attended Central Washington University, has 30 years of experience as a Nanny and Newborn Care Specialist and is a proud wife and mother of two children. She is a certified Eco-Maternity Consultant and Green Birth Educator and founded Baby Go Green, Inc. in 2012.

In addition to being credentialed through the International Nanny Association, she currently serves as the INA Second Vice President, and NCS Committee Chair. Tonya also serves as a Scottsdale Chapter board member for DEMA, the Domestic Estate Management Association. Tonya is a highly in-demand speaker for the INA’s annual conferences and has also spoken at several National Association of Nannies conferences, as well as speaking for APNA, the Alliance of Premier Nanny Agencies at their annual conference. Tonya has also presented many times at National Nanny Training Days around the country and for nanny agencies nationwide.

Tonya is a founding member and serves on the advisory board for The Baby Dream Team, a group of dedicated Newborn Care Specialists who offer their services as volunteers to families around the country experiencing the birth of higher order multiples. She is a contributing ‘expert’ for, has been published in and/or appeared in Parents Magazine, Child Magazine, The Seattle Times, The AZ Republic and The Wall Street Journal and the INAVision.

Tonya has also made numerous television appearances including spots on the news in Seattle, Portland and Phoenix as well as an appearance in 2007 on the Today Show for a special on the Masche Miracles (a family with sextuplets).
Tonya was voted the Professional Childcare Provider of the Year in 2003 and nominated for the International Nanny Association Nanny of the Year in 2004. In addition, that same year, she was deeply honored with a nomination by her peers for the National Association of Nannies Harriette Grant Memorial Award.

Along with her husband Todd, Tonya has founded Newborn Care Solutions, a company and website dedicated to education for families with newborns, both through the training of Newborn Care Specialists and for helping families adjust to life with their newborn baby.
