William C. Huff Companies
Jim Henderson, a native of Rumford, Maine, bought William C. Huff Companies in 1985 when the New Hampshire company had just one van and a crew of three men who provided small local moves.
With Jim’s leadership, the business rapidly grew providing large-scale moving services to all of New England. To Jim, success meant constantly moving forward and New England was just the beginning of what was to come.
In 1995, William C. Huff Companies was opened in Naples, Florida and has since doubled in size. Like most businesses across the country, William C. Huff was hit by the recession. Unlike most other business that were downsizing, Henderson knew he had to be proactive. He took this time as an optimistic opportunity to grow his company. Henderson spent the first year of the recession re-vamping the company’s five year business plan to target solely high net-worth and ultra-high net-worth clients.
He invested an immense amount of his personal time growing marketing and sales by becoming very active in several social, professional and non-profit organizations. Jim is an avid believer in the value of networking to help grow any business. His efforts paid off – he actually grew the business while producing the highest numbers in the history of the company.
In order to brand the company as more than a moving and storage business, the company name changed to William C. Huff Companies last year. The new branding campaign focuses on the many concierge services incorporated within the global umbrella of logistics.
On a personal note, Jim has a wife and two children. He and his wife maintain residences in both Naples, FL and Wolfeboro, NH as Jim is very active in both communities throughout the year. Jim is active in many non-profit organizations and sits on the board for the Friends of Foster Children of Southwest Florida and is a speaker for both, non-profit groups and professional business organizations. His drive to succeed and give back to his community is evident in both his personal and business life.
