The Wine Guide
As a Wine Auctioneer and owner of a Wine Consultant company, The Wine Guide, Elbert has had an interesting ride into the wine industry. His journey began in 1996 when he started a wine importing and distribution company as the sole U.S. importer of a Northern Italian winery. Quickly acquiring notable accounts around the city of Chicago, he also recognized the growing interest in wine across many social-economic lines and created The Wine Guide in 2000. This organization’s sole purpose has been to educate and elevate everyone’s interest in wine essentially bridging the gap between the wine novice and enthusiast; servicing client such as Law Firms, Investment Bankers, Realtors and countless others.
In 2008, Elbert embarked on yet another interesting journey by completing an apprenticeship as a wine appraiser, then wine auctioneer with Bacchus Auctioneers from 2009 – 2012.
He is a Certified Sommelier having completed the International Sommelier Guild Level I Fundamental and Intermediate Level II. He consults with a variety of wine auction houses, brokerage firms, and retailers where his primary function is sourcing some of the most sought after fine and rare wines in the world.
